Seltsame Stimmung
Bin grad mal wieder komisch, nostalgisch, sentimental, wehmütig und träumerisch drauf. Deshalb stopf ich meinen Blog auch mal mit allerhand Zeug voll. Aber dafür ist er ja da, hoffe ich.
You’re my home (Billy Joel)
When you look into my eyes
and you see the crazy gypsy in my soul
it always comes as a surprise
when I feel my withered roots begin to grow.
Well I never had a place
that I could call my very own
but that’s all right my love
cuz you’re my home.
When you touch my weary head
and you tell me everything will be all right.
You say use my body for your bed
and my love will keep you warm throughout the night.
Well I’ll never be a stranger
and I’ll never be alone
wherever we’re together
that’s my home.
Home could be the Pennsylvania turnpike
Indiana’s early morning dew
high up in the hills of California
home is just another word for you.
Well I never had a place that I could call my very own
but that’s all right my love
cuz you’re my home.
If I travel all my life
and I never get stop and settle down
long as I have you by my side
there’s a roof above and good walls all around.
You’re my castle, you’re my cabin
and my instant pleasure dome.
I need you in my house
cuz you’re my home,..
you’re my home.
Dieses Lied liebe ich. Und ich denke dabei immer an den Hasen. Denn es ist wirklich so. Wir sind zusammen und ich bin zu Hause.
She’s always a woman (Billy Joel)
She can kill with a smile
she can wound with her eyes
and she can ruine your faith
with her casual lies
and she only reveals
what she wants you to see
she hides like a child
but she’s always a woman to me
She can lead you to love
she can take you or leave it
she can ask for the truth
but she’ll never believes it
and she’d take what you give her
as long as it’s free
yea she steals like a thief
but she’s always a woman to me
Oh she takes care of herself
she can wait if she wants
she’s ahead of her time
oh and she never gives out
and she never gives in
she just changes her mind
And she’ll promise you more
than the garden of Eden
then she’ll carelessly cut you
and laugh while you’re bleeding
but she’ll bring out the best
and the worst you can be
blame it all on yourself
’cause she’s always a woman to me
Oh she takes care of herself
she can wait if she wants
she’s ahead of her time
oh and she never gives out
and she never gives in
she just changes her mind
She’s frequently kind
and she’s suddenly cruel
but she can do as she pleases
she’s nobody’s fool
and she can’t be convicted
she has earned her degree
and the most she will do
is throw shadows at you
but she’s always a woman to me
Ich wär gerne so wie diese Frau, die er hier besingt. Ich hoffe, ich bin es wenigstens in Teilen
Just the Way you are (Billy Joel)
Don’t go changing to try to please me
you’ve never let me down before
and don’t imagine you’re too familiar
and I don’t see you anymore
I would not leave you in times of trouble
we never would have come this far
I took the good times I’ll take the bad times
I’ll take you just the way you are
Don’t go trying some new fashion
don’t change the colour of your hair
you always have my unspoken passion
although I might not seem to care
I don’t want clever conversation
never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are
I need to know that you will always be
the same old someone that I knew
what will it take till you believe in me
the way that I believe in you
I said I love you and that’s forever
this I promise from the heart
I couldn’t love you any better
I love you just the way you are
I don’t want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are
Ein Liebeslied wie ich es manchmal brauche. Von mir für jemanden, und von dem Jemand für mich.
Summer of ‘69 (Bryan Adams)
I got my first real six string
Bought it at the five and dime
Played it til my fingers bled
Was the summer of ‘69
Me and some guys from school
Had a band and we tried real hard
Jimmy quit and Jody got married
I shoulda known we’d never get far
But when I look back now
That summer seemed to last forever
And if I had the choice
Ya – I’d always wanna be there
Those were the best days of my life
Ain’t no use in complainin’
When you got a job to do
Spent my evenin’s down at the drive-in
And that’s when I met you – ya
Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me that you’d wait forever
Oh and when you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
Back in the summer of ‘69
Man we were killin’ time
We were young and restless
We needed to unwind
I guess nothin’ can last forever – forever, no…
And now the times are changin’
Look at everything that’s come and gone
Sometimes when I play that old six string
I think about ya’n wonder what went wrong
Standin’ on your mama’s porch
You told me it would last forever
Oh the way you held my hand
I knew that it was now or never
Those were the best days of my life
